Well the last day in the UK has finally arrived and we thought it would be a relaxing, not a lot to do day as we'd planned and packed everything. YEAH RIGHT!!
It started of OK but then we realised after packing and re-packing several times that maybe we could cut down on a few things. So spent a lot of time deciding which Tshirt or pair of pants didnt quite make the cut.
After one last check we were very happy with the choice of items and weighed the packs. Mine was just over 12kg's and Jaynes was just over 10. Not bad!! Infact my pack actually looked like it was not even half full. A lesson to be learnt there, buy a smaller rucksack next time! If your wondering what 12KG's worth of stuff looks like see below picture.
(Sofa not included!!)
And 10Kgs looks like this..
It might look like a lot spread out like that but remember its gotta last 6 months + doesnt look as much when crammed into the back pack.
We were desperately awaiting a PIN number for our debit card to be used and at last it arrived!! Perfect timing! So we went to the cash machine to try it out and 3 attempts later after a bit of whirring and clicking a very hungry cash machine ate our card!! We were absolutely savage! We do have another card but this is certainly not the start we had hoped for, not even out of the UK and money troubles already!!
So it's now midnight and I cant sleep with excitement of the adventure that is about to begin! Although I'm sure the 30 hours ahead of us in nothing but planes and airports will dull my enthusiasm for travelling a little!
Next update we will be in Fiji and the fun begins!!
